Technical Question: A rare LJ post

I'm working on a rather longish blog post (dreamcafe.com/words). I'm using WordPress. I'd like to throw in a cut tag for the benefit of those on LJ who don't feel like reading the whole thing. Can someone tell me how to do that on WordPress?

Well, my attempt at cut-tags failed. And, for whatever reason, LJ won't let me either edit or delete the entries. Sorry!

It might take a wordpress extension to do that: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/hide-or-cut-post-text/
On my WP instance that's the "More" button.

I assume the angle-brackets are part of the code?
My brain being what it is, I am now envisioning the kinds of horrors to be found within a Brust blog entry.

Much of what I'm coming up with is Rule 34 of Dragaeran characters. (Of course, Devera is in all of it...)
Thank you! All of those wanting to skip past my very long post will thank you.
lj-cut isn't an HTML concept, so it's not going to travel WP to LJ safely I don't think. jaylake is right about the native WP way to do it.
Well, if LiveJournal will ever let me sign in, I'll post the graphic that shows you the button in WordPress that inserts the "More" button into your post.
I'm afraid that the cut tag did not come through on my flist. I'm not complaining, mind you; just posting as a point of information.
pfff. like there's anyone that wouldn't want to read a long post from you.
As a much younger man, I purchased complete Vlad Taltos series and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have also read many of your other books but unfortunately your stance concerning Tor's position concerning their customers and authors is disappointing. As a manager at a fortune 50 company, any employee showing such disgust and disdain toward it's own employees and customers would have been immediately fired.

Sadly I must refrain from purchasing any books by Tor until this situation is remedied.
